NBA Jersey Promo Update – 1/12

Winner winner chicken dinner! Your boy knocked it out of the park last night, going 2-0-1. Ja and Steph had taken care of business halfway through the 3rd and my Grizz pulled out their 10th straight win. While I ended with a push on the Raptors, I’ll take it. The Suns actually did the smart thing up 3 by fouling the Raptors several times instead of letting them get off a 3. Unfortunately, it came down to 1 miss at the stripe from the Raptors and Ayton sinking both free throws to secure a push instead of a cover for me, but I’m happy with my night. I’m going to ride those hot teams!

Todays Picks

You’ll see above that I increased from $50 to $65 in terms of money earned towards my new Ja jersey. When you factor in both what I wagered ($8.00) and what I won ($7.00), it adds up to $15. I realized after I won some money last night that the visual I have doesn’t quite reflect what I’m trying to do. In essence, I’m starting out with $150 free at the NBA Store, and every bet I lose cuts into that figure. So, I’m not trying to count up to $100 in winnings, but rather I have to find the balance of not losing too much, winning enough to cover any losses, and betting $100 by January 31st. I’ll have to work on it over the next couple of days, but it will suffice in the meantime.

As for my strategies tonight, I’d like to take more underdogs, but most of the hot teams are favorites tonight (as one might expect). I’m going to stick with hot teams here since it worked out last night. Hopefully, it was not just a small sample size.

Pick #1: $2.00 on the Los Angeles Lakers-4 (@ the Sacramento Kings) -110

I like the Lakers up against the abysmal Kings. LeBron is playing outstanding basketball right now and the team has played a lot better as of late (outside of a bad loss to my Grizz). They’ve taken care of business against bad teams this season and I don’t expect anything less tonight.

Pick #2: $2.00 on the Miami Heat ML (@ the Atlanta Hawks) +130

The Miami Heat are missing Jimmy Butler, which is one heck of a player to be missing, but they’ve played well despite that. Additionally, they’re going up against the Hawks who are in a bad way right now. One of their best players wants to be traded, Trae Young talked about how the regular season is boring after making it to the playoffs last year (he’s a fool), and their defense is non-existent. I’ll pick the Jimmy Butler-less Heat to beat the Hawks straight up here.

Pick #3: $2.00 on the Philadelphia 76ers (vs. the Charlotte Hornets) and the Dallas Mavericks (@ the New York Knicks) Money Line Parlay +157

Winners of 7 in a row and 8 of their last 10, the 76ers are super hot right now. Embiid is dominating once again and while the Hornets had some nice wins against the Bucks, I don’t think they have a player on their roster that can legitimately guard Embiid. I find 5 points too much to lay, so I’m going to Money Line parlay them with another super hot team, the Dallas Mavericks. Bellow the public surface, the Mavs are riding a 6 game winning streak. All streaks must come to an end, but it shall not be tonight! (That’s how I’d drop the mic if I were giving one of those famous movie motivational speeches).
