Last night didn’t turn out the way I was hoping. It took 3 overtimes, but my Raptors were the only ones to hit for me last night. Kyrie did a tremendous job of keeping the Nets in it after Harden was scratched in the last hour and the Pels tried but couldn’t pull off the upset. Furthermore, my Grizz won which was a no-brainer, but I watched JJJ miss 4 consecutive layups on drives/post moves towards the rim and knew I had no shot. Nevertheless, I like the strategy I have going and will pick more underdogs tonight.

Since we’re coming down to the wire here, I went back and checked the rules of the promo. I have until midnight of the 31st, so I will place a few bets today and a few more on Monday. Thankfully I double-checked the stipulations and identified that one of my bets doesn’t count towards the promo. So sadly, my super-boost bet from 1/11 that won had to be removed from my winnings and my betting total. I’m down $14.21 with $12.40 left to bet. This is a tough blow for sure, but we’ll do our best to make up for it today and tomorrow!
Pick #1: $2.00 on the Orlando Magic Money Line (vs the Dallas Mavericks) +140
The Magic are definitely a bad team, but miracles do happen. With no Porzingis tonight, I think the Magic have a chance to out-big the Mavs. Throw in that the Mavs have virtually no reason to care about this game, it makes me feel a little more optimistic. Additionally, ESPN’s Matchup Predictor actually gives the Magic a 50.2% chance to win tonight. I’ll take it!
Pick #2: $2.00 on the San Antonio Spurs+13.5 (@ the Phoenix Suns) -110
Similar reasoning for the Spurs as the Magic. Ultimately they’re not very good, but the Suns don’t need to care about this game and are missing Jae Crowder on the wing. While he shouldn’t make a major difference on the ultimate outcome for this game, he definitely brings an edge on the court. Hopefully missing that edge does enough to push the Spurs to a cover.
Pick #3: $2.00 on the Denver Nuggets Money Line (@ the Milwaukee Bucks) +210
I think the Nuggets are a good team worth taking great odds to win any night. They’re certainly going to win more than 50% of their games, so why not tonight? The Bucks are obviously a championship contender this year trying to defend their title, but they haven’t played quite as seamlessly this year as you’d think they would have. That probably has more to do with a constantly revolving door of injuries/COVID-related absences, but it’s worth taking a shot on a good team against a team as an underdog any day of the week.
