Intro by Sam
Start spreadin’ the news, football is baaaaaack and so are we! Not much has changed about OLL as we enter Week 1 of the 2024-2025 NFL season. Below you can see our performance from last season that marked one of the better years in OLL history. We aim to learn from some of our key lessons from last season and continue to profit this year.

Week 1 Picks
The Collaboration:
The Minnesota Vikings-1.5 @ the New York Giants
Sam: As an attendee of this game and resident Vikings fan, I’ve unfortunately never been more confident in my Vikings to win this game. Jets, Addison, and Nailor should find plenty of space in the Giants’ secondary, should the OLine hold up *gulp*. Here’s to hope springing eternal!
Yank: It’s a little cruel of the NFL to foist this matchup between our favorite teams upon Sam and I in week one, the one week where we are still allowed to hope. At least one of these teams unfortunately is going to stink this year. My gut says one team gets blown out in this game, and I’m worried it’s my GMen. I boosted the Vikings moneyline to maximize profitability on my own sadness.
Yank’s Pick: $5.00 on the Vikings ML (+162)
Sam’s Pick: $10.00 on the Vikings ML (-122)
The Pittsburgh Steelers @ the Atlanta Falcons-3.5
Yank: The Steelers have an awesome defense and a Swiss cheese offensive line. The Falcons are breaking in a new QB and offensive scheme in what is sure to be a sloppy week one. Sounds like a recipe for an under.
Sam: There’s a lot of expectations on the shoulders of Kirk and the Falcons this season, while the Steelers continue to be steady with Tomlin at the helm. Are we sure the team that drafted Penix with its only high pick and didn’t inform the $100+ million QB they just signed until they made their selection has all of their screws in tight? Seems like a recipe for chaos and drama. I think that continues in Week 1.
Yank’s Pick: $11.00 on the game under 42 (-110)
Sam’s Pick: $5.00 on the Steelers+4 (-112)
The Confrontation:
The Dallas Cowboys @ the Cleveland Browns-2.5
Sam: Everyone is down on the Cowboys after an offseason where they did absolutely nothing, but I’m banking on the regular season ATS machine that is Mike McCarthy to surprise everyone. The Cowboys defense is still good and while this should be a defensive battle, I think Dak and freshly paid CeeDee will pick up where they left off.
Yank: We are bringing back the weekly Confrontation, I am excited to take Sam on this year! Week one is sloppy for every team offensively, but should be especially sloppy for a team like Dallas whose best player was holding out for much of camp. Cleveland is a strange place to play and they have an awesome defense. Finally, I kinda hate the Browns pick here which is probably a good thing because I am a bad gambler.
Yank’s Pick: $5.50 on the Browns-2.5 (-110)
Sam’s Pick: $5.00 on the Cowboys ML (+118)
The Isolation:
The Tennesse Titans @ the Chicago Bears-4
Yank: I really like the Bears this week for a simple reason, I think this Titans team may be the worst team in the league this year. I can already see Greeny in the Get Up opening segment slobbering all over Caleb Williams debut performance.
Yank’s Pick: $11.50 on the Bears-3.5 (-110)
The Arizona Cardinals @ the Buffalo Bills-6.5
The New England Patriots @ the Cincinnati Bengals-7.5
Yank: This is the most obvious tease of the week. The Bills and Bengals should both win handily so the 6 point line adjustment feels like free money. This almost never works but let’s go crazy for week one!
Yank’s Pick: $12.50 on a 6 point teaser: Bills-0.5 AND the Bengals-1.5 (-125)
The Jacksonville Jaguars @ the Miami Dolphins-3.5
The Houston Texans-3 @ the Indianapolis Colts
Yank: There are always a few strange week 1 results and I like the Jags to win in Miami as one of them. I am throwing in the Texans moneyline to juice the odds even further, the Colts are generally terrible in week one, going 0-9-1 in their last 10.
Yank’s Pick: $10 on a ML parlay Jags and Texans (+320)
The Carolina Panthers @ the New Orleans-4
Sam: This pick will certainly come back to bite me, but I kinda like the Panthers this season. No, they still don’t have a ton of talent, but I don’t think Bryce Young will be as bad as he was last season, and I think that’ll catch a lot of people by surprise.
Sam’s Pick: $3.00 on the Panthers ML (+168) and $3.00 on the Panthers+3.5 (-104)
The Washington Commanders @ the Tampa Bay Buccaneers-3.5
Sam: Yet another queasy pick. I’m not high on the Commanders this year, but with a new coach at the helm, and an exciting talent in Jayden Daniels at QB, I think the Commanders could be one of those Week One teams that look great early and flail during the season. Plus, Baker looked like a starting QB last season, but the brains behind the offense left for Carolina, and I’m skeptical about the success continuing into a new system.
Sam’s Pick: $3.00 on the Commanders ML (+162)
The Los Angeles Rams @ the Detroit Lions-4.5
Sam: While the Rams under the helm will no doubt be frisky this season, adjusting to life without Aaron Donald will be difficult. This one could be tight, but I think the Lions will come out with a roar at home this week and put points up left and right.
Sam’s Pick: $6.00 on the Lions-4.5 (-105)
