Intro by Yank
To paraphrase Taylor Swift’s new album, “it’s actually sweet! All the time we spend on [this blog], it’s actually lovely all the effort we put in”. We spend a lot of time finding new ways to get crushed, but don’t fault our effort for it. We’re at it again below, and we promise not to call you boring Barbie, no matter how it turns out.

Week 6 Picks
The Collaboration
The Buffalo Bills-4.5 @ the Atlanta Falcons
Yank: You can make an argument that the Bills have failed to inspire confidence this year, but personally I don’t buy it. Division games are always weird I’m willing to throw last week out. This matchup looks like a good “get-right” game for one of the best offense in the league. I expect Buffalo to score 30+ and Atlanta to struggle to keep up.
Sam: The Bills remain one of the best teams in the NFL. They’re coming off a disappointing performance and first loss of the season. I expect them to use this as a get-right game. Their true colors will show, and they should put up the points they need to cover.
Yank’s Pick: $11.50 on the Bills-3.5 (-115)
Sam’s Pick: $11.00 on the Bills-4 (-110)
The Confrontation
The Cleveland Browns @ the Pittsburgh Steelers-6.5
Sam: I kinda like this Steelers team. I mean, I’m no Rodgers fan, but he’s shown the ability to produce competent QB play and a few dimes. Meanwhile, they found a successful offense against the Vikings two weeks ago that will help them neutralize the Browns’ potent pass rush. Throw in that they’re coming off a bye, and the Browns are playing the weekend after a London game, and I like this spread.
Yank: Yuck, I don’t like betting on the Browns AT ALL. But what has this Steelers team done to inspire any confidence they can beat an NFL team by 6.5? This is likely a weird Steelers game that ends in a closer than expected victory.
Yank’s Pick: $5.00 on the Browns+6.5 (EVEN), $10.00 on a SGP Browns 1H ML+Steelers Game ML (+500)
Sam’s Pick: $5.00 on the Steelers-6.5 (EVEN), $5.00 on a SGP Browns 1H ML+Steelers Game ML (+500)
The Money Line Parlay of the Week
The San Francisco 49ers @ the Tampa Bay Buccaneers-3.5
The New England Patriots @ the New Orleans Saints-5.5
Yank: The Bucs have been nails in clutch situations, let’s keep riding that train! Meanwhile, the Saints are awful, and the Giants obscured that fact last week with 5 turnovers. A Mike Vrabel team is unlikely to do the same.
Sam: Eventually, the injuries will catch up to the 49ers? Why not against this team that has been great in the 4th quarter and is capable of making big plays on defense? Meanwhile, I’ve said I would bet against the Saints every week at the beginning of the season. I have not been consistent enough and should be up on the season against them, but of course I haven’t, so I’m righting my wrong here.
Yank’s Pick: $10.00 on a Buccaneers ML/Patriots-5.5 parlay (+278)
Sam’s Pick: $10.00 on a Buccaneers ML/Patriots-5.5 parlay (+246)
Rapid-Fire Isolation Picks
Yank’s Picks:
$15.75 on the Cardinals+7 (-105) @ the Indianapolis Colts
$10.50 on the Detroit Lions+2.5 (-105) @ the Kansas City Chiefs
Yank: Betting on the Lions (good idea) and against the Colts (likely a bad idea) every week continues!
Sam’s Picks:
$11.00 on the Green Bay Packers-14 (-110) VS the Cincinnati Bengals
$7.00 on the Detroit Lions ML (+115) @ the Kansas City Chiefs
Sam: I’m probably going to bet the Packers every week. They should be able to beat the Bengals by a million, right? I’ve been told they have the best offense and defense in the NFL! Meanwhile, I like the Lions’ smash-mouth game against a Chiefs team that has its offense going a bit, but isn’t yet playing complementary football.
